Also, another preview…

July 17th, 2009 by Sarah Winifred Searle

p001While I’m posting, might as well show you the progress of the comic. Currently I am building up a 20 or so page buffer so that when I begin to post it a couple pages at a time online I won’t get behind. I’m pretty pleased with the style I chose, I think.

Fictional Crush

bingley
Still reading P&P&Z. It’s been fulfilling. Bingley is just as charming as always. Also, any other fans out there should definitely check out Lost in Austen, a four episode miniseries about a modern woman who gets stuck in the book. There are very few shows I can watch over and over again; this is most certainly one of them.

Jane

The Elder Miss Bennet

The Elder Miss Bennet

Jane has always been one of my favorite Austen characters. She gets pushed in the background pretty often and isn’t as charming as Lizzy, but there’s something about her that I relate to more than any of the others.

Awesome.

Awesome.

This is my new reading material, borrowed from my friend Vanessa. How awesome is that?

Progress!

Here's a preview of the comic!

Maggie cowers from the ghost.

I have officially begun drawing the actual pages of my comic Under the Apple Tree! Unfortunately I won’t be showing any of them until I have a few scenes finished, but I’ll be posting little previews until it goes live as a web comic.

Here’s a practice panel I did to get the style down. It’s a sketch I did of the main character during her first civil conversation with the ghost that haunts her house.
