Lately I’ve been trying to expand my portfolio by doing some pieces unlike my usual “style”. A perfect opportunity for this was my parents’ Christmas present. They’re fairly hard to buy for and I thought they would appreciate a Mafia Wars/Miami-esque portrait more than just “stuff”. They sure did, and now I have a new realistic piece for my portfolio!

Great job. And way to kill two birds with one stone. I was just curious, when you do this type of work do you scan in a picture and start with some tracing or do you draw it from scratch?

  2. Usually I do a sketch by hand and scan it in to finish it, but this time I did it 100% digitally with reference photos. Thanks for the comment, it’s nice to know people actually read this stuff sometimes!

is that … Crockett & Tubbs?

    HA!

  4. Thoroughly amazed, I will be commissioning a sleeve tattoo, your style is flawless.
